Notable New Products: Chamberlain Coffee Pods & Hollywood-Inspired Ice Cream
In this week’s roundup of notable new products, Chamberlain Coffee makes its first foray into the coffee pod category, San-Francisco based restaurant Flour + Water enters CPG and Ben & Jerry’s takes a cue from Hollywood for its newest ice cream innovation.
Ben & Jerry’s
Ben & Jerry’s partnered with filmmaker Ava DuVernay to launch its newest permanent flavor, Lights! Caramel! Action! The new offering, which features vanilla ice cream with swirls of salted caramel, graham cracker crumbs and chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough, will be available in both dairy and non-dairy almond milk formats. Lights! Caramel! Action! Will be available at Ben & Jerry’s stores nationwide for $6.49 per pint.
Chamberlain Coffee
California-based specialty coffee maker Chamberlain Coffee released its first Coffee Pods. The pods are made with patented plant-based materials and are commercially compostable. Offered in the brand’s Original Family Blend, the pods come in a 10-pack for $16.
Blake’s Seed Based
Blake’s Seed Based unveiled its newest innovation, a line of chewy granola bars. Available in three flavors – Chocolate Chip, Birthday Cake and Apple Cinnamon – the granola bars are made with 100% whole grains and contain 120 calories each. Blake’s Seed Based Chewy Granola Bars are available online for $23.99 per 24-pack.
Flour + Water
San Francisco-based restaurant Flour + Water is moving into CPG with the debut of Flour + Water Foods. The new American pasta company offers four boxed pastas made by the restaurant’s co-chefs Thomas McNaughton and Ryan Pollnow: Spaghetti, Elbow Macaroni, Penne and Campanelle. The pastas are currently available individually at select Whole Foods stores throughout Northern California and online for $23.96 per 4-pack.
Bel Brands
Bel Brands expanded its lineup of non-dairy products with two new products: Nurishh Incredible Dairy and The Laughing Cow Plant-Based. The former is a cream cheese alternative offered in Original, Strawberry and Chive & Onion varieties that will be available at Kroger for $4.99 starting January 1. The latter is a spreadable dairy alternative that will soon be available at select retailers for $5.49.
Special K
Special K has launched two new flavor varieties: Kellogg’s Special K High Protein, available in Chocolate Almond and Kellogg’s Special K Zero, available in a Cinnamon variety. Both contain 18-20 grams of protein per 8 oz. serving, with the later also sporting zero added sugar. Special K High Protein is available for $7.49 per 12.4 oz. box while Special K Zero is available for $7.49 per 6.3 oz. box.
AWAKE
Confection brand AWAKE has rolled out revamped packaging for its product lineup ofCaramel Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Mint Dark Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chocolate caffeinated chocolates. The new packaging features bright, bold colors with each pouch containing 50 pieces of individually wrapped bites at an MSRP of $34.99.
