In May brands launched a range of new products, kicking off the summer season with a variety of new salty snacks, dips and sauces. In this gallery, we highlight a new product from NuttZo, plant-based meat, seafood and cheese innovations, product reformulations and a handful of brand refreshes including Khalsa, reThink ice cream and more.

Extending its innovative line of dips, Sabra released a Mexican Street Corn-inspired guacamole and an Everything Bagel Seasoned hummus. The guacamole, which is made with sweet corn, lime, chipotle and Mexican-grown Hass avocados, will be sold in the deli section of grocery stores nationwide in 16 oz. containers. The Everything Bagel hummus is also sold at retailers nationwide for $2.99 per 10 oz. container.

Fish sauce brand Red Boat expanded its sauce offerings with the introduction of Kho Sauce, a blend of fish sauce with black pepper, shallots and ginger. Kho Sauce is available at select retailers nationwide for $8.95 per 11.8 oz bottle.

Runamok Maple and WhistlePig Rye Whiskey partnered to launch a barrel-aged maple syrup. The syrup is available for $24.95 per 250 ml bottle and can be purchased on WhistlePig’s website.

Hot sauce brand Red Clay debuted a line of seasoning blends and cocktail salts inspired by the company’s South Carolina roots. The lineup includes five SKUs: Spicy Everything Salt, Charleston Harbor, Spicy Red Mash, Spicy Margarita Salt and Spicy Bloody Mary Salt. Red Clay’s spices and salts are available for purchase on their website and at select retail locations nationwide.

Just in time for summer, Watkins 1868 added an organic line to its portfolio of grilling products. Watkins 1868 Organic Grilling Products includes seasonings such as Chicken, Garlic & Herb, Hamburger and Steak Seasoning, a Smoked Maple and Sweet and Savory Rub and Chili Lime and Spiced Maple marinades. The new line is available on Amazon and retailers such as Cub Foods, Erewhon, Hannaford, Harmons, and HyVee for a suggested retail price of $4.99 for the seasonings and rubs and $1.79 for the marinades.

Nut butter brand NuttZo launched a Five Seed Tahini Fusion offering this month. The seed butter is made with a blend of sesame, flax, sunflower, pumpkin and chia seeds and contains seven grams of protein per serving. NuttZo’s Tahini is available at select Whole Foods locations and online at the brand’s website and Amazon for a suggested retail price of $7.99.

Portland-based Khalsa Salsa debuted new packaging for its Indian fusion salsa line that includes Classic, Black Bean and Mango Habanero varieties. Khalsa also announced it will donate $1 for every salsa product sold to the COVID-19 Relief Efforts in India.

Colorado-based snack brand Bobo’s is celebrating Pride Month by featuring designs and a personal statement from three LGBTQ+ artists on the packaging of its third annual Lemon Poppyseed Oat Pride Bar. The bar will be available throughout 2021 in a six-pack for $14.99, with 100% of the bar’s profits being donated to PFLAGNational and The Center on Colfax.

Plant-based seafood producer Good Catch expanded its portfolio with the addition of breaded fish sticks, fish fillets and crab cakes. The new offerings are made from a blend of peas, chickpeas, lentils, soy, fava beans and navy beans and contain between 12 to 15 grams of protein per serving.
