Siete Family Foods Launches Grain Free Taco Shells

AUSTIN, Texas– Siete Family Foods, makers of grain free Mexican-American food, has announced the launch of Grain Free Taco Shells. The introduction of taco shells marks the Austin-based brand’s entrance into a fifth category.

Siete created the product in response to hundreds of customer requests over the past several years since the debut of their almond flour tortillas, which launched the brand in 2014. Made with nutrient-dense ingredients, like cassava, pumpkin and avocado oil, the taco shells are grain free, certified gluten-free, non-GMO, as well as paleo and vegan-friendly.

“When creating new products we always ask the question, how can we solve problems for our customers while also staying true to ourselves?” said Veronica Garza, co-founder and president of Siete Family Foods. “We want to make products that are inspired by our heritage, but also allow people to enjoy foods they haven’t been able to in years. The taco shells feel like a perfect marriage of the two.”

Siete was founded after Garza adopted a grain free diet to deal with multiple autoimmune conditions and her family of seven joined her on the journey.  As a Mexican-American family from South Texas, staples like chips and tortillas could no longer be enjoyed, so Garza developed grain free recipes the family could savor together at the table again.

“Since our inception, the goal has always been to share delicious, better-for-you Mexican-American food with as many people as we can,” said Miguel Garza, CEO of Siete Family Foods. “It’s equally as important for our food to taste good as it is for people to feel inspired by it.”

Siete’s new Grain Free Taco Shells come in packs of twelve and are available for purchase in the ethnic aisle of Whole Foods Market locations nationwide starting March 2019 (SRP $5.99). The taco shells will be launching in other retailers nationwide this summer.
