Holy Napoli Releases Neapolitan Pizza

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Vancouver-based Holy Napoli introduces authentic Neapolitan pizza to the frozen food market. The wood-fired pizza brings Italian tradition into the home with three new Sacredly Authentic Neapolitan Pizzas that promise to “satisfy thy soul.”

Francesca Galasso, owner of Il Castello Pizzeria in North Vancouver, launched Holy Napoli in August 2017 with a single product: frozen pizza dough. The business was inspired by her restaurant customers’ frequent requests to purchase dough balls to make their own Neapolitan pizzas at home. Holy Napoli has since expanded to offer a line of Sacredly Authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas, including a classic Margherita, Pesto Roast Vegetable and the Calabrese, featuring nitrate-free salami.

“We looked at the market and saw a real opportunity for a frozen pizza that is authentic in taste and truly restaurant-quality, “ said Galasso, who is 29 years old. “We wanted to create something that would suit our generation’s busy lifestyle but would also resonate with our appetite for thoughtfully crafted, clean-label products.”

Holy Napoli’s pizza is raising the dough for frozen pizza standards. The sacred recipe boasts simple, authentic Italian ingredients including “00” flour, San Marzano tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella, and extra virgin olive oil. All Holy Napoli pizzas are pre-baked in an 800° wood oven, ensuring a traditional Neapolitan recipe meets the home every time.

Francesca thanks her Italian heritage for her passion and love for food.

“Growing up I loved to cook with my family. It’s from them that I learned to source the best ingredients and turn them into simple and delicious Italian food, like pizza” said Galasso. “I want everybody to be able to experience the way real pizza should be!” Holy Napoli worked with Vancouver advertising agency, Spring Advertising, on brand identity and packaging to help tell the story.

Holy Napoli is available in over 100 grocers in-store and online across British Columbia, including SPUD.ca, Fresh St. Market and Safeway. They will be available for purchase in grocery stores across Canada this year, with plans to expand into the US in 2019.
