NEW YORK, NY – October 5, 2026 – Planet Bake, the women-owned, better-for-you dessert brand known for its zero-sugar baked donuts, announced a price reduction taking effect October 5 through its distribution partners.
The price cut follows years of work to improve the company’s cost structure and production efficiencies at a time when many of the premium ingredients used in its products have become significantly more expensive.
Since Planet Bake launched in 2021, the cost of several ingredients central to its products has risen substantially. Almond flour, which the company purchased for approximately $2.50 per pound in its early years, now costs more than $4.00 per pound. Avocado oil has seen an even steeper increase, rising from approximately $1.60 per pound in 2021 to about $3.50 per pound today.
Despite those increases, Planet Bake has been able to reduce its overall production costs without reformulating its products or moving away from the ingredients at the core of the brand.
“We’ve worked incredibly hard to get here,” said Kathrin H., Founder of Planet Bake. “As a growing food company, there is constant pressure to balance ingredient quality, production costs and what consumers can realistically afford. Instead of compromising the product, we focused on becoming more efficient. Being able to turn that work into a price decrease is a major milestone for us.”
Lower Prices, Same Product
Planet Bake’s baked donuts are made with almond flour and allulose and contain no sugar alcohols, gums, or preservatives.
Rather than reducing costs through reformulation, Planet Bake has focused on improving its operations, production and supply chain to create a more sustainable cost structure.
Effective October 5, 2026, the company’s new pricing is being implemented through its distribution partners, with the goal of enabling more accessible retail pricing for consumers.
“For an emerging brand, lowering prices isn’t an easy decision,” Henon said. “But accessibility matters. If we want better-for-you products to reach a broader consumer, they have to work not only from an ingredient standpoint, but from a pricing standpoint as well.”
The price reduction comes as Planet Bake continues to build its presence across natural and conventional retail channels while growing its direct-to-consumer business.
About Planet Bake
Planet Bake is a women-owned, New York-based food company reimagining one of America’s most nostalgic treats for the modern wellness consumer. Founded by Kathrin Henon in 2021, the brand was inspired by a childhood tradition of sharing freshly made donuts at her grandmother’s kitchen table—and a desire to recreate that same sense of indulgence without the sugar crash.
Planet Bake’s signature baked donuts pair that nostalgia with a modern ingredient philosophy. Made with almond flour and sweetened with allulose, the donuts are zero sugar, gluten-free and plant-based, with no sugar alcohols, gums, artificial fillers, binders, colors or flavors.
At its core, Planet Bake is built around a simple idea: indulgence doesn’t have to mean compromise.
Planet Bake products are available at select retailers, including ShopRite, as well as online at planet-bake.com.
