This year marks ten years since Brad Pitt, Famille Perrin, and Rodolphe Péters first set out to reimagine what a Rosé Champagne could be. It’s been a decade of quiet, painstaking work that gave rise to Champagne Fleur de Miraval, the only Maison exclusively dedicated to the art of Rosé Champagne. To mark the milestone, the House unveils its fifth cuvée, ER5 (Exclusivement Rosé 5), a wine that captures ten years of shared craftsmanship into its most refined expression yet.
“Before we were a Maison, Fleur de Miraval was a conversation — could Rosé Champagne be something more? Purer, more complex, built to age rather than simply please in the moment,” says Marc Perrin of Famille Perrin. “ER5 is proof of what that conversation became. Every edition since has been a step closer to the wine we first imagined, and this one feels like the truest expression of it.”
That vision has always been rooted in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger: the kingdom of Chardonnay and heart of the Côte des Blancs, home to the chalkiest soils in all of Champagne. It is here that the House's signature style takes shape: Chardonnay Grand Crus, primarily from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, built around a Perpetual Reserve and a Remise en Cercle, and elevated by fresh Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru of Vertus, vinified as an Infusion Rosé. ER5 draws on that decade of accumulated reserve wines and technique, marrying the delicate, mineral, brioche-like character of aged Chardonnay with the freshness and vibrancy of young Pinot Noir.
“Each cuvée in the ER series has asked us to balance patience with instinct,” says winemaker Rodolphe Péters. He continues, “After ten years, that balance has become second nature, and ER5 is where it shows most clearly: fifteen vintages, seventy-five percent reserve wines, and a single, coherent idea of what this House's Rosé Champagne should taste like.”
Champagne Fleur de Miraval ER5 Winemaker Summary
ER5 is a unique, limited-production multi-vintage blend: 50% Perpetual Reserve Chardonnay (vintages from 2007 to 2019, vinified as white Vin Clair), 25% Remise en Cercle Blanc de Blancs (sourced from bottles of Champagne from the 2010 and 1998 vintages), and 25% Pinot Noir from Vertus Premier Cru (vinified as an Infusion Rosé, base 2020) — 15 total vintages blended with 75% reserve wines.
ER5 opens with an expressive bouquet of summer white flowers and linden, evolving into notes of pomelo, white peach, and freshly baked brioche. With aeration, noble reduction develops, revealing subtle smoky nuances alongside toasted bread and roasted hazelnut. The palate is pure, lively, and beautifully balanced, offering layers of white fruit and candied citrus that bring richness and generosity. Fresh almond bitterness and delicate spice notes provide structure and energy, leading to a saline, mouthwatering finish marked by remarkable persistence and elegance.
Aged on lees for four years and disgorged in April 2025, ER5 is dosed at less than 6 grams per liter. The density, balance, and length of ER5 exemplify the art of an extraordinary Rosé Champagne — and, ten years on, the clearest statement yet of the House's founding ambition.
Champagne Fleur de Miraval ER5 (SRP: $300 / 750ML), already garnering acclaim from prestigious wine industry media including a 96-point score from Wine Spectator, will be distributed in limited quantities across the United States, available at the nation's leading fine wine and spirits retailers and featured in prestigious restaurants.
