Bachan’s Unveils New Dipping Sauce Line & New Barbecue Sauce Flavors at ExpoWest
SEBASTOPOL, Calif. -- Bachan’s, The Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce brand and category innovator led by founder and CEO Justin Gill, announced today the debut of Japanese Dipping Sauces, as well as three new Japanese Barbecue Sauce flavors at ExpoWest. Bachan's Roasted Garlic, Sweet Pineapple, and Hella Hot Japanese Barbecue Sauces will launch nationwide in April.
- Bachan’s Roasted Garlic Japanese Barbecue Sauce is made with two types of organic garlic—sweet and savory roasted garlic and punchy raw garlic—to satisfy even the most diehard of fans. The combination creates intense, layered flavor to the brand's beloved original family recipe, creating a crave-worthy condiment.
- Bachan’s Sweet Pineapple Japanese Barbecue Sauce adds organic pineapple to the brand’s beloved original family recipe, creating a classic flavor combination for the perfect hit of tropical brightness and light sweetness.
- Bachan’s Hella Hot Japanese Barbecue Sauce features a red-hot blend of red jalapeño and red habanero, which delivers a double hit of mouthwatering warmth that intensifies as you eat it.
Bachan’s Japanese Dipping Sauces, the brand’s first category expansion, will roll out nationwide this April. The two new sauces—Bachan’s The Original Japanese Dipping Sauce and Bachan’s Sweet & Spicy Japanese Dipping Sauce—feature authentic Japanese ingredients like stone-ground sesame (neri goma) and white miso for bold, fresh flavor, and a thicker, velvety consistency designed for dipping. The Sweet & Spicy features red habanero for bold heat.
Bachan’s The Original Japanese Dipping Sauce has been selected as a NEXTY Award Finalist and will be featured at ExpoWest 2025 with winners being announced during the show on Thursday, March 6.
“We’re always looking for traditional and new flavors to pair with our sauce,” says Justin Gill, Bachan’s Founder and CEO. “We’re excited to be introducing four new flavors to our family of sauces. Whether flavors people love, like Roasted Garlic, or a Japanese-American classic combo, like Sweet Pineapple, we strive to provide new, umami-filled, specialized dining experiences to home cooks and chefs.”
The cornerstone product for Bachan’s is its Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce, which comes from a multi-generational family recipe passed down to Justin by his own Bachan, a Japanese American term of endearment for grandma. Launched in 2019, the Bachan’s family of sauces now includes the Original, Hot & Spicy, Yuzu, Gluten Free, Miso, Sweet Honey, Hella Hot, Roasted Garlic, Sweet Pineapple, as well as Bachan’s The Original Japanese Dipping Sauce and Bachan’s Sweet & Spicy Japanese Dipping Sauce. The brand has demonstrated an impressive growth trajectory since its start and is now widely available at more than 35,000 retailers nationwide, including Costco, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Whole Foods Market, Sprouts
Farmers Market, Publix, Albertson’s, and more. The company also sells online at bachans.com and is the #1 best-selling barbecue sauce on Amazon.
A Tradition of Bold, Fresh, Umami Flavor™, Bachan’s is dedicated to creating cold-filled sauces made from simple, authentic, non-GMO ingredients, inspired by Justin’s family recipe.
