La Monarca Bakery Expands into Albertsons Stores in 8 States
La Monarca Bakery, a beloved U.S. Hispanic food brand known for recreating Mexico’s favorite cookies, coffees and chocolate beverages using high-quality, simple ingredients, is expanding its distribution to new Albertsons divisions, bringing the total number of states to eight.
In 2022, Albertsons began carrying the brand’s signature Mexican cookies and Café de Olla in its California stores. Now, regions will also offer La Monarca Bakery’s new Churro Cookies, Mexican Chocolate Butter Cookies, Chocolate Mexicano Beverage Mix and Champurrado Beverage Mix, bringing its assortment to eight SKUs. With this recent expansion, La Monarca Bakery products will be available in eight states: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, Kansas, Louisiana and Texas.

La Monarca Bakery’s SKU lineup includes five scratch-made cookies and three beverages:
- Mexican Wedding Cookies (6 oz.) - La Monarca Bakery’s signature Wedding Cookies are made with butter and pecans and dusted with powdered sugar.
- Orejitas (3.4 oz.) - La Monarca Bakery’s palmiers are made with buttery puff pastry and lightly dusted with sugar for a golden-brown finish.
- Cinnamon Cookies (6 oz.) - La Monarca Bakery’s cinnamon shortbread cookies are dusted with a blend of cinnamon and sugar.
- Churro Cookies (3 oz.) - La Monarca Bakery’s Churro Cookies are made with butter and cinnamon. Unlike traditional churros, they are baked rather than fried.
- Mexican Chocolate Butter Cookies (4 oz.) - La Monarca Bakery’s Chocolate Butter Cookies are made with fair-trade cacao and real butter.
- Café de Olla Ground Coffee (12 oz.) - La Monarca Bakery’s best-selling Café de Olla is made with freshly roasted coffee, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
- Chocolate Mexicano Beverage Mix (10 oz.) - La Monarca Bakery’s Hot Chocolate is made from fair-trade cacao ground in-house with a custom blend of sugar and spices.
- Champurrado Cinnamon Atole Beverage Mix (10 oz.) - La Monarca Bakery’s Champurrado is a modern take on the classic cold-weather holiday beverage.
La Monarca Bakery is a member of 1% for the Planet, donating 1% of its packaged product sales to their non-profit partner ECOLIFE Conservation to protect and preserve the Monarch butterfly honored in the brand’s namesake.
