Purplesful Snacking Closes Seed Round of Financing to Support National US Launch
TORONTO, ONTARIO (September 1, 2024) – Purplesful Snacking®, maker of ancient grain, purple corn based snack products, today announced a seed round of funding led by highly experienced CPG veterans Matthew von Teichman, Mike Fata and Dror Balshine, as well as marketing expert Ryan Spelliscy.
Founded in 2021 by serial entrepreneur, Matthew Von Teichman, Purplesful Snacking ® manufacturers a line of purple corn based popcorn sold nationally in Canada and the US. The investment will go to support the rapidly growing consumer demand as well as towards key hires, innovation and marketing initiatives. The company will also be implementing a board of directors led by Matthew von Teichman as Chairman and Mike Fata as Lead Director.

According to Nielsen data, the worldwide RTE popcorn category is $4.37B and expected to grow at a whopping 13% CAGR. Studies also suggest that 78% of consumers in North America would tell others to buy from purpose driven brands. Since its launch in April 2022, Purplesful® has expanded to be available in over 2100 doors in Canada including Loblaws, Shopper Drug Mart, Sobeys, Metro, Save On Foods and many more. Purplesful® has recently launched in the US and is now in over 1200 doors including Wegmans and several Kroger banners, with major new listings expected in the coming months.
