8 More Notable New Products From Winter Fancy Food Show 2023
The Winter Fancy Food Show, which took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 15-17, was filled with aisles of new product innovations ranging from plant-based meat to regeneratively-grown tea. The show saw Bitchin’ Sauce expanding its portfolio, Norseland launching two Cacio e Pepe Sauce Starters and Grown As* Foods unveiling a big as* jar of vegan cheese powder.
Alchemeat
Alchemeat debuted its flagship product, a plant-based whole-muscle meat alternative made from naturally-occurring plant proteins. The product, which is intended to replicate beef and made with, will launch into foodservice first through restaurant partnerships in the Chicago area.
Wild Orchard
Wild Orchard showcased its new regenerative organic-certified line of tea bags. Available in eight varieties – Sweet Sorbet, Sunday Brunch, Morning Citrus, Green Tea, Everyday Black, Twig Tea, Cinnamon Black and Berry Brûlée – the tea leaves are grown on a farm that uses regenerative practices and is situated on a volcanic island in South Korea.
Grown As* Foods
Grown As* Foods, which first debuted its boxed vegan mac & cheese line at Summer Fancy Food Show 2022, has launched its standalone vegan cheese powder. Consumers can now use the powder to create a mac & cheese sauce to pour over their desired type of noodles. Grown As* Vegan Cheese Powder, targeted toward food service, is available online for $43 per 1lb jar.
Bitchin’ Sauce
Bitchin’ Sauce announced the upcoming launch of three new varieties: Hatch, Dill Pickle and Hanang. The new flavors will join Bitchin’s current roster of nut-based sauces, which includes flavors such as Original, Chipotle, Cilantro Chili, Bombay, Pesto, Heat, Caramelized Onion and Avocado Serrano.
Khalsa Salsa
BIPOC and women-owned Indian Fusion salsa company Khalsa Salsa debuted its newest product format, salsa starter pouches. Available in three different spice levels (Mild, Medium and Hot), the shelf-stable product can be used to make Khalsa-inspired salsas with the addition of onion, tomatoes and cilantro. The packs can also be used on their own to season a meal.
Gel-Shotz
CPG newcomer Gel-Shotz unveiled its line of cocktail-flavored gelatin. Available in nine flavors – Blue Hawaiian, Margarita, Piña Colada, Mai Tai, Strawberry Margarita, Cosmopolitan, Tequila Sunrise, Lemon Drop and Apple Martini – the gelatin was designed to be mixed with alcohol to make cocktail-style gelatin shots but can also be mixed with water for a non-alcoholic treat. Gel-Shotz are currently available at Winn-Dixie stores.
Norseland
Norseland unveiled two new products under its Lotito Presto Cacio e Pepe Pasta Sauce Starter line, Original and Black Truffle. The starters, offered in both shelf-stable and refrigerated formats, are designed to be mixed with hot pasta water.
Effie’s Homemade
Boston-based wholesale baking company Effie’s Homemade unveiled new flavors of its oat-based biscuits in Ginger, Almond and Walnut. The New Biscuit Sampler, which includes two 7.2 oz. boxes of each flavor, is available online for $39.
