She’s been quiet thus far on whether the FTC will battle the proposed massive supermarket merger between Albertson’s and Kroger, but the new merger rules released by her agency and the Department of Justice mean that there’s plenty of reason for her to give the deal an extra going-over. Both from a fair competition and a labor standpoint, the new standards let the agencies in, but her view of how it affects consumers is going to be the big question for whether she takes the FTC into battle.
