About MochaLux

MochaLux is a premium specialty coffee company focused on sourcing and roasting distinctive Yemeni coffees. Since 2024, we have served customers through our online store and are expanding our wholesale presence across cafés, specialty retailers, hospitality, corporate gifting, and related channels.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced contract Wholesale Sales Representative to sell MochaLux coffee to qualified wholesale buyers and develop long-term customer relationships.

This is a hands-on sales role for someone who understands specialty coffee, can confidently present premium products, and is comfortable managing the complete sales process—from prospecting and tastings through closing orders and supporting reorders.

The initial engagement will be a 60–90 day contract, with the potential to continue based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and contact cafés, restaurants, specialty grocers, gourmet retailers, hotels, corporate gifting buyers, and other qualified accounts.
  • Conduct outreach by email, telephone, LinkedIn, in-person visits, networking, and events.
  • Present MochaLux products, flavor profiles, pricing, case quantities, and brand story.
  • Manage samples, buyer follow-ups, negotiations, orders, onboarding, and reorders.
  • Host coffee tastings, cuppings, buyer presentations, pop-ups, and educational events when appropriate.
  • Educate buyers and staff about Yemeni coffee, processing methods, tasting notes, and brewing recommendations.
  • Capture approved photos and short-form video from tastings, café visits, events, and product demonstrations for possible future social-media use.
  • Request appropriate consent before recording identifiable customers, staff, or event participants.
  • Maintain organized sales records and provide weekly updates on outreach, samples, opportunities, orders, and buyer feedback.
  • Follow approved pricing, discount, and expense guidelines.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Professional experience in specialty coffee, preferably involving wholesale sales, café operations, roasting, coffee education, importing, hospitality, or account management.
  • Strong understanding of coffee origin, processing, roast profiles, brewing methods, and tasting terminology.
  • Experience hosting cuppings, tastings, buyer demonstrations, café activations, or coffee-related events.
  • Proven ability to prospect, open new accounts, negotiate, close sales, and develop repeat business.
  • Existing relationships with cafés, retailers, restaurants, hotels, distributors, or specialty-food buyers are strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable capturing quality photos and short videos with a smartphone.
  • Able to work independently and provide consistent reporting.
  • U.S.-based and available for local travel when agreed upon.

Compensation and Location

This is a U.S.-based contractor position with an expected compensation range of $1,500–$3,000 per month, depending on experience, availability, and scope.

Additional commission will be paid on collected wholesale revenue. Approved samples, event expenses, and agreed business travel will be provided or reimbursed.

Applicants should include examples of specialty-coffee experience, products or brands represented, accounts opened, events hosted, territories covered, and measurable sales results.
