Position Summary
The Filler & Seamer Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of high-speed can filling and seaming equipment. This role is critical to maximizing production efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring products consistently meet quality and food safety standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with experience maintaining beverage canning equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain can fillers and seamers.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Optimize filler and seamer performance to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Verify seam integrity and work with Quality to ensure all seam specifications are met.
- Perform format and package size changeovers.
- Support startup of new products and customer runs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate replacement needs.
- Follow all food safety, GMP, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.
- Participate in weekend and off-shift maintenance when required.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience maintaining high-speed beverage filling and seaming equipment.
- Experience in beverage, brewery, or food manufacturing.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends.
Preferred
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Pneumatic systems
- Basic PLC troubleshooting
- VFDs and motor controls
- Stainless process equipment
- CIP systems
- Beverage processing equipment
Equipment Experience (Preferred)
Experience working with equipment such as:
- Bevcorp
- Krones
- Ferrum
- Angelus
- KHS
- Tunnel Pasteurizer
- Pneumatic Scale Angelus
Experience with similar high-speed beverage packaging equipment is also welcomed.

Schedule:
- 8-hour or 10-hour shifts (based on production needs)
- Monday–Friday
- Overtime available
- Occasional weekends
Pay: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
