Summary/Objective

The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading a team who is responsible for developing, directing, and driving the strategic sales plan for RANCH2O Spirits. This includes route to market strategy and design through distributor / wholesaler alignment, transitions, communications, and agreements in addition to all accompanying processes, planning, and collaboration efforts both externally and internally. 


The Director of Sales will increase efficiency and standardization of routine processes including communications from corporate to the sales organization. The position requires a self-motivated, organized, energetic, creative, ambitious person who can thrive in a demanding environment and be an ambassador of our brand.

Essential Functions


Company:

  • Oversee efforts related to systems / tools and process development to simplify and focus the work of the Sales team, such as goal setting, and tracking of execution efforts
  • Oversee budget management, including establishing budgeting parameters by territory and state and report budget performance to the Executive team
  • Utilize sales tools (VIP, KARMA, Nielsen, IRI, etc.) effectively and efficiently
  • Review and set resources to support the execution of key sales goals by aligning Marketing and Sales resources
  • Familiarize yourself with competition and remain appraised of market trends and developments within specific product categories, geographic regions, and accounts
  • Manage the state retail business with the goal of gaining new distribution and promotional activity through direct interaction with the sales team, national accounts, key buyers, and wholesalers


Distributor / Wholesaler Relationship:

  • Manage distributor / wholesalers with existing sales team with the goal of increasing share of mind and retail execution
  • Manage and execute distributor / wholesaler incentives and focus periods
  • Provide top level brand direction including priorities, brand performance objectives or category, segment insights to distributor / wholesale groups

Sales Team

  • Oversee the Sales strategies and execution of the communication function by developing an internal and external communication system that improves performance and provides aligned and clear messaging to the Sales organization
  • Analyze and develop strategies and action plans to address On- and Off-Premise opportunities by state
  • Assist in hiring and training new sales representatives
  • Set performance direction to your team and ensure continued open dialogue concerning performance
  • Foster a culture that facilitates sharing of best practices in these areas across the Sales organization.

Work Environment

Driving an automobile, retail and other venue environments, this role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboard, mouse, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax/scanning machines.


Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, forty (40) hours per week, exempt position and normal work hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional night and weekend industry event attendance are to be expected.  


Travel   

Travel within the designated region is required for this position. Travel expected 50% of the time. Travel outside of the designated territory may be required on occasion to assist other team members.


Required Education and Experience

  • At least 5 years previous experience in the beverage industry
  • Passion for the industry and consumer behavior
  • Must have advanced leadership and management skills with a proven track record of effective delegating and directing to meet and exceed results
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

Work Authorization 

Must complete US Federal I9 form with appropriate identification
