Senior NetSuite Accountant / NetSuite Systems Owner

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced NetSuite Accountant and Systems Owner to fully own our NetSuite environment end to end. This role is ideal for someone who is equally strong in accounting and systems - someone who can both do the work and design the system so it scales cleanly as the business grows.
This is a hands-on, senior role responsible for accuracy, structure, automation, reporting, and long-term system integrity.
Core Responsibilities
NetSuite Ownership & Architecture
- Own the entire NetSuite environment end to end
- Set up, maintain, and continuously improve a clean, accurate chart of accounts
- Build, fix, and optimize workflows, approvals, and automations
- Manage roles, permissions, and internal controls
- Clean up historical data and resolve legacy setup issues
- Troubleshoot posting errors, reconciliation issues, and bad data quickly
- Scale the system as the business grows—without breaking it
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Handle multi-entity, multi-state accounting correctly
- Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations
- Implement and maintain revenue recognition rules
- Handle inventory, COGS, and costing accurately
- Ensure all transactions are properly posted and reconciled
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Reporting & Analytics
- Build real financial reports that leadership can actually use
- Create dashboards, saved searches, and custom reporting directly in NetSuite
- Support lender, investor, and executive reporting from NetSuite data
Integrations & Systems
- Integrate NetSuite with:
- Banking platforms
- Payroll systems
- AP automation tools
- CRM systems
- Ensure data flows accurately between systems and NetSuite
Compliance & External Support
- Support audits, tax filings, and lender reporting directly from NetSuite
- Maintain GAAP compliance and strong internal controls
- Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and external consultants related to NetSuite
Qualifications
- 8+ years of accounting experience with deep, hands-on NetSuite expertise
- Proven experience owning and scaling a NetSuite environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity accounting
- Extensive experience with:
- Intercompany accounting
- Revenue recognition
- Inventory and costing
- Advanced NetSuite skills (SuiteFlow, SuiteAnalytics, saved searches, reporting)
- Experience integrating NetSuite with third-party systems
- CPA preferred but not required
