Pita Chip Founder’s Bold, Better-for-You Bars

After striking success with natural pita chip company Stacy’s, sold to PepsiCo in 2006, Stacy Madison took a break from the world of natural foods.

But six years ago Madison opened a juice bar in Needham, Massachusetts and began serving natural granola bars. Now Madison is jumping back in the CPG game, launching the refrigerated bars into retail under new brand BeBold. The bars, which feature nut butters and are naturally sweetened with honey and maple syrup, are sold at Stacy’s Juice Bar and Meijer locations in the Midwest. At this year’s Natural Products Expo East trade show in Baltimore, Madison told NOSH reporter Beth Kaiserman that despite entering a crowded category, having superior ingredients can mean a bold future in bars.
