Bagels and lox is about as iconic a pairing as peanut butter and jelly. But while classics have their place at the table, century old seafood company Acme Smoked Fish wants that to be more than just the breakfast table. So the company is innovating, launching new products that target new day parts and use occasions.

At this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show, Acme — which produced items under the Acme, Blue Hill Bay, Ruby Bay and Great American brands — highlighted two new offerings: Smoked Atlantic Salmon Candy and ready-to-eat Salmon Protein Bowls. The former offers shoppers a meat snack alternative with 11 grams of protein and 1,100 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids per serving, while the latter is a meal kit-style offering of rice, sauce and fish that can be an easy lunch or dinner.

Both new products are examples of how the fourth-generation family-owned brand is trying to evolve to meet shoppers’ needs and target new consumers — both younger and outside of its hometown of New York.
