Jensen Meat Company today announced the launch of the Butcher Stick, a plant-based, shelf-stable take on the classic meat stick. Available in Pepperoni Style and Teriyaki Style flavors, the new snack replicates the meaty taste and appearance of its animal-based counterparts with the advantages of clean-label and natural ingredients.
Designed for lunchboxes, desk drawers, road trips and other on-the-go occasions, each individually wrapped Butcher Stick is 100% non-GMO, vegan, gluten- and dairy-free, and made with no artificial additives, synthetic dyes, or artificial preservatives or flavors.
The Pepperoni Style flavor contains 100 calories per serving and a medium level of heat, while the Teriyaki Style SKU contains 90 calories per serving and offers a milder flavor. Both varieties have 4 grams of protein per stick and a 12-month shelf life from the date of production.
“The meat-stick category has evolved from a convenience-store staple into a mainstream snack enjoyed at work, school, the gym and anywhere on the go,” said Abel Olivera, CEO of Jensen Meat Company. “The Butcher Stick extends our reach into this large and expanding segment with an innovative plant-based option that checks all the boxes for consumers who are looking for healthy protein choices in a meat-stick format.”
The Butcher Stick expands Jensen Meat's growing plant-based portfolio with a product suited for retail, convenience and other grab-and-go settings. Retailers, distributors and foodservice operators can request product samples or additional information at [email protected].
The Butcher Stick will be available through retailer and foodservice channels.
