Following a highly successful regional pilot, the seed-to-table innovator rolls out its celebrated, bred-for-flavor vegetables to Sprouts locations coast to coast.
NEW YORK (August 18, 2026)—Row 7 Seed Co. today announced a nationwide retail expansion of its certified organic produce with Sprouts Farmers Market. Starting today, shoppers across the country can find Row 7’s seasonal, bred-for-flavor vegetables—including Sweet Garleek, Sugarcone Cabbage, and Upstate Abundance potatoes—in the produce aisles of all 490 Sprouts locations across 25 states. Additionally, customers in select markets will enjoy the regional arrival of the cult-favorite Koginut Squash on the West Coast.
The nationwide launch marks a significant step change for Row 7. After a successful pilot program last year in Northern California, Washington, and Nevada, this expansion with Sprouts helps fuel 2026 as the brand’s biggest year for retail growth yet. Driven by a mission to put flavor back into produce at scale, Row 7 is on track to more than double its retail footprint this year, growing from 700 doors in 2025 to anticipating more than 1,400 doors across the country by the end of the year.
"For decades, the produce aisle has been dictated by what ships well and yields the most, not what actually tastes the best," said Chef Dan Barber, co-founder of Row 7 Seed Company. "We are flipping that model by starting with flavor right at the seed. Produce is at the center of everything Sprouts does, making them the exact right partner to help us scale.”
The expanded program celebrates seasonal organic vegetables that have been specifically co-selected for flavor by chefs, farmers, and plant breeders in the field and the kitchen. The Sprouts nationwide lineup features:
Sweet Garleek (Available June – February | SRP: $5.99/bunch): A first-of-its-kind garlic and leek hybrid that marries the sweetness of leeks with the mild, savory notes of garlic.
Sugarcone Cabbage (Available September – December | SRP: $2.99/lb): This point-headed showstopper turns cabbage into a true centerpiece on the plate. With delicate, lettuce-like leaves, it delivers a tender crunch and a naturally sweet, mild flavor—without the sulfury cabbage bite.
Upstate Abundance Potatoes (Available September – March | SRP: $5.99/1.5 lb bag): Creamy, nutty, buttery—even without the butter. These golf-ball-sized potatoes pack serious flavor into every bite, with bright white flesh and a richness that speaks for itself.
Koginut Squash (Available regionally September – February | SRP: $2.69/lb): This cult-favorite pumpkin is prized for its rich, nutty flavor and velvety texture. Koginut is a cross between two squash types—one prized for its high dry matter, the other for its concentrated sweetness. Koginut inherited the best of both, with a velvety texture and intensely squash-y flavor.
"2026 is a defining moment for Row 7,” said Charlotte Douglas, president and co-founder of Row 7 Seed Company. “Scaling our fresh produce nationwide proves the produce aisle is ready for true flavor and innovation, and we have a lot more on the way."
