Two Magpies Bakery Acquires Another Site in Suffolk
Norfolk- and Suffolk-based bakery group Two Magpies Bakery is continuing its expansion plans with the purchase of a well-known location in East Suffolk.
With 10 sites across Suffolk and Norfolk, and plans to expand to up to 50 sites, the group has purchased the lease and assets of Marlesford Farm Shop and Cafe near Woodbridge for an undisclosed sum.
Marlesford Farm Shop and Cafe is a popular venue near Woodbridge, offering locally sourced breakfasts, lunches and homemade scones, with seating for 80 customers inside and 50 outside. The large farm shop sells local produce and artisan goods.
From 23 March, it will be rebranded as Two Magpies, with plans to transform the site in keeping with other locations in the group.
"This is a great start to the year and cements our plans to expand. We are thrilled to have secured such a fantastically positioned site that has great potential. We look forward to welcoming the staff from Marlesford into the Two Magpies team as we develop the site and the customer experience further," says Steve Magnall, owner and CEO of the Two Magpies Group.
"This is a huge achievement for the Two Magpies Bakery Group, which will see a 10–15% increase in our turnover and a step towards our goal of 50 sites."
The move will see 21 existing staff members joining the Two Magpies team, and all existing fixtures and fittings at the site will remain.
Two Magpies is renowned for delivering bakes, hand-laminated pastries and sourdough bread using quality ingredients, alongside customer service.
The bakery group currently has cafes in Norwich, Blakeney, Holt, Woodbridge, Wells-next-the-Sea, Beccles, Aldeburgh, Framlingham and Southwold, as well as a central bakery in Walpole and a bake school in Darsham.
