This year, Equifruit has whipped up a next-level banana split recipe that combines serious sugary indulgence with positive social impact, using their signature Equifruit Fairtrade bananas. It’s nostalgic. It’s over the top. And it’s made with bananas that support a fairer food system.

Since 2006, Equifruit has been on a mission to right the wrongs of the banana industry with a 100% Fairtrade commitment. Under the Fairtrade Standards, banana farmers are paid a minimum price of their fruit, set independently by Fairtrade International. In addition, for every case of bananas sold, Equifruit pays $1 US in Fairtrade Premium directly to grower communities. They decide how they spend it, whether it’s schools, healthcare, clean water, climate resilience, or other community investments. To date, Equifruit has paid over $4.7 million US to banana producers.
