Easy Foods and 4ocean Announce a New Ocean Plastic Neutral Partnership
KISSIMMEE, Florida (June 2025) – Today, Easy Foods announces their partnership with 4ocean to join the clean ocean movement and receive its Ocean Plastic Neutral Product Certification. The agreement will offset more than 25,000 pounds of plastic from packaging and fund community cleanup efforts in Florida.
About 40 million metric tons of plastic waste is produced each year, according to the UN Environmental Programme, with global production of primary plastic forecasted to reach 1,100 million metric tons by 2050. Approximately 36% of all plastics produced are used in packaging, including single-use plastic products within the tortilla and snacking industry, 85% of which end up in landfills or as unregulated waste.
Easy Foods, headquartered in Kissimmee, Florida, is a leader in premium, restaurant-quality tortilla production. Among its better-for-you options are Island Time Chips, launching this summer as a healthier spin on the classic tortilla chip. Made with clean-label, functional ingredients like cassava flour, avocado oil, and chia seeds, the individually portioned bags are the perfect component for summertime snacking.
Its other health-focused line, Vedgee, boasts six flavors of wraps made with 100% vegetable puree and garden herbs. Easy Foods’ other brands include Mi Panchito, which features corn and flour tortillas crafted using a 25-year-old recipe, and Tacomex, offering authentic flour tortillas, corn tortillas, corn chips, and wraps, all focused on authenticity.
Meanwhile, 4ocean is a premier ocean cleanup company dedicated to ending the ocean plastic crisis. Since 2017, its professional, full-time captains and crews have removed more than 40 million pounds of plastic waste and other man-made debris from the world’s oceans, rivers, and coastlines.
“This partnership with 4ocean reflects our long-term commitment to making responsible choices for our customers, our community, and the planet, which includes healthier offerings like Island Time Chips,” said William Isaias, President and CEO of Easy Foods. “We are focused on helping to remove plastic from the ocean and thus, generate awareness for this critical mission, making sure that we build trust with environmentally conscious consumers.”
4ocean launched its corporate partnership program in 2022 to help forward-thinking brands transition to the circular economy—a regenerative economic system designed to minimize waste, maximize resource efficiency, and promote sustainability by designing products, processes, and business models that make it possible for brands to use their resources in a continuous loop without degradation or loss of value.
Through its corporate partnerships program, 4ocean helps brands calculate the total amount of plastic they produce as a business or for a specific product or product line. The brand then purchases 4ocean Plastic Credits to fund the removal of an equal or greater amount of plastic waste from the world’s oceans, rivers, and coastlines.
By partnering with 4ocean to support the clean ocean movement, Easy Foods joins other top brands such as SC Johnson, Mount Gay Rum, HP, and U.S. Polo Assn. Together, 4ocean and its Plastic Neutral Partners will remove millions of pounds of plastic from waterways worldwide and create a framework for sustainability that other brands can follow.
“Cleaning the ocean mitigates the worst impacts of plastic pollution, but it’s only half the battle,” says 4ocean co-founder and CEO, Alex Schulze. “We must work together to address the root cause of the ocean plastic crisis and stop plastic pollution at its source.”
Organizations interested in becoming Plastic Neutral Certified with 4ocean are encouraged to apply.
