Finger Foods Farm Announces Goal To Source 30,000 lbs Of Local Produce By End Of 2025
Bloomfield, NY – Finger Foods Farm (FFF) is proud to announce a major milestone in its commitment to supporting regional agriculture. In just three months since its launch, the farm utilized more than 7,700 pounds of locally grown produce from New York farms to craft its line of frozen soups, bringing the best of local harvests to consumers' tables.
"Partnering with local farms is a win-win. It supports local farmers and allows us to make better-tasting soups by using more flavorful varieties harvested at peak flavor," said Sarah Cookfair, Co-Founder of Finger Foods Farm. "By sourcing directly from ourselves and neighboring farms, we not only provide consumers with delicious, high-quality soups but also strengthen our community by supporting the regional food system."
FFF's soups are crafted using ingredients grown on its own 40-acre organic farm in Bloomfield, NY, as well as produce from more than nine trusted partner farms. This collaborative approach has contributed to the growth of regional food networks, reducing food miles and supporting local agriculture.
Looking ahead, FFF is setting an ambitious goal to increase its use of locally sourced produce by more than 300% by year’s end. This expansion will coincide with the launch of two new soup varieties, further diversifying the product line and creating additional opportunities for New York farmers.
"As we grow, we remain dedicated to investing in our regional food system," added Cookfair. "With the continued support of our customers and partners, we can drive even greater impact. We're setting a goal to source 30,000 lbs of local produce by the end of 2025, and we invite our community to help us reach this milestone by choosing Finger Foods Farm soups. Every purchase supports local farmers and strengthens our regional food system." "With the continued support of our customers and partners, we can drive even greater impact."
FFF’s frozen soups are currently available in independent retailers in Rochester and nearly 80 Wegmans locations along the East Coast, with plans to expand into additional grocery chains.
