Wow Bao Launches Partnerships With Meijer and Ahold Delhaize Brands; Expanding Presence to More Than 7,000 Grocery Stores Nationwide
CHICAGO – Wow Bao, the leading fast-casual restaurant concept in North America and the #1 selling bao brand in the U.S., announced the addition of Meijer and Ahold Delhaize brands to its portfolio of grocery store partners. Michigan-based Meijer cements the brand’s reach in the Midwest, while Ahold Delhaize delivers the Northeast with Hannaford, GIANT Company, and Giant Food stores.
These partnerships bring Wow Bao’s grocery store freezer presence to nearly 7,000 retailers in the continental United States, expanding from just 350 stores at the beginning of 2023.
Meijer is the first retailer to carry Szechwan-Style Spicy Pork Bao. The latest Wow Bao flavor features roasted pork, cabbage, ginger, garlic, and chili crisp-gochujang sauce inside a soft, fluffy bao. The new flavor is one of several new CPG products Wow Bao is unveiling this year as it continues to meet shopper demand for restaurant-quality Asian food.
“The addition of Meijer, Hannaford, GIANT Company, and Giant Food stores speaks to the continued growth Wow Bao is experiencing within our CPG vertical,” said Geoff Alexander, president and CEO of Wow Bao. “Our fans can find our signature bao on freezer shelves throughout the entire country.”
In addition to Szechwan-Style Spicy Pork Bao, Meijer carries Teriyaki Chicken, Mongolian-Style Spicy Beef, and Chinese Style BBQ Pork. The GIANT Company and Giant Food stores carry Chinese-Style BBQ Pork, Mongolian-Style Spicy Beef, Chicken Teriyaki, and Cheeseburger Bao. Hannaford Stores offer Chinese-Style BBQ Pork, Chicken Teriyaki, and Kung Pao Chicken Bao.
Wow Bao was recently recognized by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) with their Most Disruptive Product Award in recognition of its “restaurant ready appeal and authentic taste.”
