Oobli is a California food-tech company making low-sugar chocolate and iced teas sweetened with 'sweet proteins' produced via precision fermentation instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners. Co-founded in 2014 by CTO Jason Ryder as Joywell Foods and led by CEO Ali Wing, it was the first company to receive FDA 'no questions' GRAS letters for novel sweet proteins. Its milk chocolate bars and minis (45% cocoa) come in flavors such as Cocoa Dreams, Let's Go Nuts and Crisp 'n Rice, with about 70% less sugar than conventional milk chocolate.
