Vista Hermosa

Tacombi taqueria founder and CEO Dario Wolos took his tortilla brand Vista Hermosa and launched CPG food company Vista Hermosa in 2015 to sell its line of fresh tortillas and chips. In October, the brand expanded its offerings with a line of frozen Burrito Bueno products in three flavors: Super Spicy Chicken, Bean y Oaxaca Cheese and a vegan option, Sweet Potato y Cactus.

What started as Wolos slinging tacos from a retrofitted VW bus in Mexico’s Playa del Carmen, later spun off into a chain of taquerias and the Vista Hermosa CPG brand. In December 2021, the brand closed a $27.5 million funding round led by Enlightened Hospitality Investments, Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group growth equity fund, to further the business’ expansion into now over 800 stores including Whole Foods, Erewhon Market, Fresh Direct, Misfits Market and Bristol Farms.
