Fillo’s Walking Tamales

Along with a packaging refresh, Fillo’s rolled out its Walking Tamales line this year, taking the brand out of the beans and rice set and into snacking. Inspired by the Latin American recipes of their childhood, brothers Daniel and Antonio Caballero wanted to “reinvent” the tamale, expanding it from more of a traditional meal occasion to other day-parts with a shelf-stable, ready-to-eat product that doesn’t need to be heated. Available across a range of both sweet (Strawberry Coconut, Mexican Chocolate Almond, and Peanut Piloncill) and spicy (Bean Salsa Verde, Bean Salsa Roja, Bean Salsa Habanero), Filo’s makes a convincing case for to-go tamales.
