
Smoke Brewing Company is seeking a passionate and experienced brewer to join our team in crafting exceptional beer. ??? Key Responsibilities
Brewhouse Operations
- Operate and understand brewing processes on 10 bbl direct-fire 2-vessel system with electric HLT
- Execute wort production, monitor brew schedules, and maintain brewhouse workflow
- Recipe Development
Packaging & Cellar Work
- Operate Alpha canning line
- Perform key cellar tasks: fermentation monitoring, pH and temperature tracking, dry hopping, fining, adjunct dosing, carbonation, and barrel prep
- Handle yeast: harvesting, counting, and pitching
- Conduct standardized CIP/SIP procedures and maintain equipment cleanliness
Quality & Safety
- Maintain detailed records of brewing, packaging, and cellar operations
- Uphold brewery quality standards and ensure chemical safety and handling protocols
- Operate manual 2-head keg washer and ensure proper keg cleaning and sanitation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Stay current on brewing trends, techniques, and new ingredients
Inventory & Logistics
- Update inventory logs for raw materials and packaged goods
- Assist with transportation of product and materials to distributers
- Load/unload raw materials, distribution shipments, and equipment
Team & Community Engagement
- Provide general oversight of weekly brewhouse operations
- Represent Smoke Brewing professionally at events, festivals, and collaborations
- Support other departments as needed (e.g., taproom, social media)
Day-to-Day Expectations
- Cleaning and sanitization
- Wort production
- Cellaring and packaging
- Miscellaneous duties as needed
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of professional brewing experience
- Proven ability to manage brewhouse operations
- Valid driver’s license; must be 21+
- Physically capable of lifting 55 lbs to shoulder height and moving 165 lbs at ground level
- Strong troubleshooting skills across brewery operations
- Excellent multitasking, attention to detail, and work ethic
- Professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary: $50,000-65,000
- Two weeks paid time off to start (increases with tenure)
