M&AK's Kitchen Launches All-Natural West African Jollof Sauce Made with Organic Ingredients
LOS ANGELES, CA (2026) -- M&AK's Kitchen (mandakskitchen.com), a Los Angeles-based food startup focused on West African pantry products, announced the launch of its first product: an all-natural West African “Jollof Sauce” made with organic ingredients. The direct-to-consumer soft launch began May 27, 2026, through mandakskitchen.com, with retail positioning anticipated by Q4 2026.
M&AK's Kitchen was founded with a broader mission: to bring authentic West African foods made with quality, organic whole food ingredients to American tables and make them as beloved and commonplace as cuisines from other parts of the world. Founded by husband-and-wife team Abdulkamal (“AK”) and Michelle, the brand is built around a belief that West African flavors deserve a permanent place in the American pantry—not as a novelty, but as a staple. Rooted in tradition and driven by a commitment to health, quality, and sustainability, M&AK's Kitchen is as much about building a community connected through culture and food as it is about the products themselves.
The Jollof Sauce is designed to simplify the process of making jollof rice, a tomato- and pepper-based rice dish popular across West Africa that traditionally requires extensive ingredient preparation and cooking time. The sauce allows consumers to prepare jollof rice in approximately 30 minutes and is versatile in other uses, including as a marinade; on meat, eggs, vegetables, and fish; and as a condiment.
The product launched in two varieties, mild and medium, and is made with organic ingredients. The formulation is vegan and avoids preservatives, seed oils, artificial dyes, and flavor enhancers commonly found in shelf-stable cooking sauces.
The company’s initial production run consists of a limited batch sold directly through the brand’s website as part of a phased launch strategy.
“Much of the inspiration behind the brand came from trying to recreate the kinds of meals AK grew up eating in Lagos after moving to the United States,” said Michelle, co-founder of M&AK's Kitchen. “We wanted to build something that felt rooted in tradition but realistic for how people cook today.”
