Inside CHUNG DDUK's New NYC Shop, Built for Grab-and-Go Snacking
Soft, chewy rice cakes and warm hodduk trays designed for quick stops in Manhattan.
NEW YORK, NY — February 27, 2026 — CHUNG DDUK has opened its first New York City shop in Manhattan, introducing a grab-and-go format centered on Korean rice cakes designed for fast-paced, on-the-go eating.
Built around New York City's daily rhythm, the shop prioritizes portability and speed over a traditional sit-down dessert experience. The compact counter setup, focused menu, and handheld packaging are intended for quick purchases between work, transit, and everyday routines.
The menu centers on cream rice cakes in flavors including green tea, black sesame, and tiramisu. CHUNG DDUK also offers a ready-to-eat breakfast option, Cream DDUK Overnight Oats, which incorporates rice cake pieces into the format.
For warm items, the shop serves a hodduk tray featuring hot pancakes alongside Greek yogurt, roasted soybean powder, peanuts, and honey.
"We're not trying to create a destination dessert," said Eilyn, Brand Manager at CHUNG DDUK. "We're building an everyday snack format that fits naturally into a New York routine."
The Manhattan opening marks CHUNG DDUK's first U.S. shop, bringing a portable Korean snack format to a city shaped by grab-and-go habits.
