Position Summary
The Packaging & Equipment Technician supports all stages of packaging operations, including bottling, canning, and kegging, while operating and maintaining packaging line equipment.
This is a hands-on role focused on keeping production running efficiently and producing high-quality product. You will assist with equipment setup, perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, and support quality control efforts throughout the packaging process.
What You Will Do
- Operate packaging line equipment across bottling, canning, and kegging operations
- Perform cleaning and sanitation, including CIP of bright beer tanks and fillers
- Operate keg racking equipment and support related processes
- Assist with routine and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment
- Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to support uptime and efficiency
- Identify and escalate equipment issues and support resolution
- Read and follow equipment manuals and technical documentation
- Support quality control efforts, including minimizing TPO and preventing contamination
- Accurately record production and packaging data in systems such as OBeer, Smartsheet, and Excel
- Operate a forklift (or obtain certification)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Assist with parts and inventory tracking
- Collaborate with team members across departments to improve operations
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
What You Bring
- Mechanical aptitude with interest or experience in equipment operation and basic repair
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic operational or equipment issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Effective time management and ability to multitask and shift priorities
- Clear communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stay calm and effective in a fast-paced production environment
- Flexibility and willingness to support different areas of packaging as needed
Preferred Experience
- Experience in packaging, manufacturing, or production environments
- Food or beverage manufacturing experience, brewery experience a plus
- Exposure to packaging equipment such as GAI, Robino & Galandrino, Lambrechts, or CFT systems
- Familiarity with quality control practices in production
- Experience with production tracking systems such as OBeer, Smartsheet, or similar
- Comfortable working with computers, including Excel and inventory systems
Minimum Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or packaging environment
- At least 1 year of experience with basic equipment troubleshooting or mechanical support
- Ability to work scheduled shifts, including overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed
