Summary

The Category & Sales Planning Analyst will play a critical role in bridging data, strategy, and execution across Nova Naturals’ portfolio, including C2O Pure Coconut Water and Steaz Iced Tea. This role supports both Subsidiary Natural Teams and Parent General Market Teams, ensuring category reviews, commercialization, and planning efforts are backed by precise, data-driven insights.


This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales for Nova Naturals.


The analyst will work closely with Marketing and the Brand Manager to align sales and marketing strategies, ensuring that data insights fuel creative storytelling and commercial success. This role will focus on finding and creating stories in syndicated data (e.g., SPINS, IRI, Nielsen) to empower the sales team with compelling, insight-based selling stories for buyers and category managers.


Core Responsibilities


Category Review Support & Data-Driven Selling

·      Assist Nova Naturals and Novamex category teams in preparing for category reviews with retail partners.

·      Leverage SPINS, IRI, Nielsen, and proprietary data sources to develop clear, persuasive selling stories and actionable category insights.

·      Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to translate data into meaningful narratives and presentation materials that connect consumer trends with brand positioning.

·      Present actionable findings to drive distribution, shelf optimization, and promotional opportunities for C2O and Steaz.


Sales & Marketing Insight Integration

·      Partner with Marketing and Sales teams to connect consumer and retail data, transforming insights into sales activation tools and marketing programs.

·      Provide regular updates on performance trends, brand growth opportunities, and key drivers impacting market share, helping bridge the gap between field sales and brand marketing.


Planning & Scheduling

·      Maintain, update, and manage category review calendars, ensuring readiness for new item introductions, marketing programs, and trade support.

·      Support the coordination of marketing activations, promotions, and sales materials in advance of key retailer line reviews and reset cycles.


Cross-Functional Liaison

·      Act as a communication conduit between Sales, Marketing, and Operations, ensuring alignment across promotional and strategic planning.

·      Serve as the link between Marketing and Sales to ensure marketing programs are effectively translated into field execution and retailer engagement.

·      Facilitate collaboration between Nova Naturals’ brand teams and Novamex’s general market divisions to unify data, objectives, and execution.


Financial Stewardship & Reporting

·      Support planning, accrual, and reconciliation of trade and marketing spend, coordinating with accounting to ensure fiscal accuracy.

·      Provide recurring reporting and insights on promotional ROI, category performance, and velocity trends.

·      Translate scan data into actionable visual reports and dashboards that highlight growth stories and support account presentations.


Innovation & Commercialization

·      Aid in the commercialization of new items, from data-based opportunity identification to launch readiness.

·      Partner with innovation and marketing teams to integrate market research and performance analytics into new product development and go-to-market strategy.

·      Identify emerging category trends and provide insights to help craft brand narratives for new and existing products.

·      Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance cross-departmental collaboration and storytelling impact.
