Job Description
The Director of Operations is a hands-on role with responsibility for the overall operational leadership and management of manufacturing a range of spirits in different formats. This individual will be accountable for all aspects of operations, including:
– Planning, budgeting, sourcing and producing goods that meet challenging deadlines
– Managing and developing the production team
– Complying with all applicable local to federal laws in a highly regulated industry
– Maintaining the company’s organic certification program and production database
– Continually improving the cost, efficiency, quality, safety and environmental management of operations
– Maintaining and improving the equipment and facilities, including preparing equipment budgets and project plans that encompass new equipment and major repairs for existing equipment & facilities
– Embracing and improving the company’s culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement, implementation of work standards, automation and development of feedback mechanisms
The Successful Applicant Should Possess
– Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related field
– 10+ years in a manufacturing or operations environment in the beverage industry, with demonstrated experience in growing operations/production, planning/budgeting and team building
– Detail-oriented problem solver/doer with developed management skills and high integrity
– Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills
– Experience working with manufacturing systems and software
– Willing and able to perform any operations within team member’s job, including physically demanding ones
– Must live within a reasonable distance of the distillery, which is located in downtown Los Angeles
