Emerging Brand

Renewal Mill

As the upcycling movement gains momentum, ingredient supplier and food brand Renewal Mill has seen record growth this year. The climate friendly company makes a range of baking mixes and flour, cookies and gift sets by repurposing imperfect, by-product or side stream ingredients that would otherwise be wasted. This summer the brand launched with Whole Foods nationwide and partnered with kitchenware specialists Williams Sonoma to produce a three-SKU line of co-branded products under the retailer’s new Seed & Harvest brand.

The Seed and Harvest line will help bring Renewal Mill, and upcycling, to a wider audience and marks its largest ingredient partnership to-date, founder Caroline Cotto previously told NOSH. Earlier this year, the company launched a co-branded cookie with vegan dairy alternative brand Miyoko’s Creamery and has teamed up with additional brands like Fancy Pants Cookie Company and Salt and Straw.

Renewal Mill expanded its own portfolio over the past year with upcycled corn flour and plans to introduce two more gluten-free flours in 2023. The company is also growing its ready-to-eat cookies line, with a third flavor made with upcycled vegan butter from Miyoko’s Creamery.
