When doing due diligence, these Gen Z and Millennial angel investors and VC team members are still looking at balance sheets, but they evaluate a brand’s potential for success with their own special lenses as digital and online natives – so their views on social media presence and D2C strategy are highly relevant. For those brands looking to raise capital now, or in the future, understanding how to pitch these investors will be an absolute must.

On this panel, the audience will hear from youthful but intense investors like:

  • Patrick Schwarzenegger: The CEO of bar brand MOSH, Schwarzenegger also is an actor and angel investor, with stakes in popular brands including Blaze Pizza, Super Coffee, Verb and Simulate
  • Mel Li: The head of community for the $12.5 million DormRoom Fund, Li, a Harvard student, is also an investor at Offline Ventures.
  • Elizabeth Brown: After graduating from Wake Forest in 2020 and working on the investment banking team for Credit Suisse, Brown is now an investor at Venterra Ventures, a venture and growth equity fund that has backed brands including Hu Kitchen, Oats Overnight, Dose and more.

So how do brands get in the hands of consumers – and investors? Increasingly it’s through fast-delivery services like GoPuff. During the event, the retailer’s VP of Merchandising, Max Crowley, will sit down to discuss the burgeoning sector and the role emerging brands can play when they’re stocked at GoPuff. He’ll discuss:

  • How brands are selected for GoPuff and what onboarding looks like
  • What the GoPuff customer seeks in a product and how to be part of their basket building
  • The impact of current e-commerce and social media trends on GoPuff’s strategy.
