Emerging Brands

Eastern Standard Provisions

Named after one of Boston’s most beloved restaurants, and co-founded by local restaurant maven Garrett Harker, over the past five years Eastern Standard Provisions has grown from a regional brewery snack to a gifting platform and CPG line of frozen pretzels.

Those salty snacks are growing fast, now sold in 2,700 doors including Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, Wegmans and Costco. The CPG push has, in part, helped the brand grow its business, but it’s not all pretzels. The company also sells Liege waffles and brings a unique spin to the category with dips, sauces and toppings like White Cheddar Cheese Sauce and French Toast Sugar.

Other snack players are taking note too. Last December, Eastern Standard Provisions received a healthy capital infusion of $13.5 million led by Mondelēz’s venture arm, SnackFutures, as the strategic turns a focus to the U.S. bakery category.
