BelVita may be a category captain when it comes to breakfast biscuits, but for U.S. shoppers it's still a nascent product type. For Olyra, which already has biscuit SKUS, innovation this year came via a perhaps more familiar form factor, cookies.
The company first released almond butter, peanut butter and chocolate butter (think Nutella) filled biscuits this past Spring before rolling out low-sugar strawberry and raspberry jam filled options later in the year. Unlike some other sweet breakfast options, the biscuits maintain a nutritional bent, with protein and fiber thanks to the addition of spelt, lupine, oat and barley flours.
