Banza

Following a $20 million round of funding closed at the end of last year, Banza focused on innovation in 2020 and made its first push beyond pasta.


After landing in over 13,000 retailers with its chickpea pasta and expanding into rice alternatives and mac & cheese, the brand entered the increasingly popular plant-based pizza crust space with its chickpea crust pizza at retailers like Target, Whole Foods and Wegmans. It’s a launch that keeps Banza as center of the plate, offering a familiar classic that is easy to understand by all shoppers, but that helps the already-growing brand expand into more eating occasions while serving as a step toward a larger legume-based suite of products.
