Simple Mills

Having established itself as a leader in the natural baking and snacking categories, Simple Mills extended from clean-eating to encompass environmental health, increasing its focus on sustainability in 2020. 


The brand added two sustainability experts: Shauna Sadowski joined as VP of sustainability from General Mills, while Amanda Steele, CMO at regenerative agriculture and food investment firm Agriculture Capital, was named a board member. The goal, the brand said, is to partner with farmers on future product launches and establish agricultural practices that improve soil health and biodiversity, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and increased carbon sequestration.


Simple Mills also continued to expand its product offerings with Soft Baked Almond Flour Bars and Veggie Pita Crackers, along with new baking mix varieties, setting a path for innovation that the brand plans to continue in 2021 with an emphasis on sourcing and agricultural methods.
