Sweets and snack makers took on the better-for-you space this month with a range of new bars, baking mixes and chocolates from brands including GoodSam and JOYÁ. PepsiCo owned brand Hilo Life released Snack Puffs in Fiery Hot and Cheddar flavors containing 3 grams of carbs and 12 grams of protein per serving. The keto puffs are packaged in single serve bags and are available in 12-count single flavor and variety packs for a suggested retail price of $21.99.

Nutrition company Quest unveiled a new Frosted Cookie product this month in Birthday Cake and Chocolate Cake flavors. Each cookie contains less than a gram of sugar and 5 grams of protein. Quest’s Frosted Cookies are available in 8-count boxes online and at select retailers nationwide for $9.89 per box.

Diestel Family Ranch launched a heat-and-eat Organic Turkey Gravy for Thanksgiving made with bone broth and a classic roux made from organic butter. The shelf-stable gravy is flavored with herbs including sage, rosemary and thyme and is available at retailers nationwide in a 13.5 oz. TetraPak carton for a suggested retail price of $3.99.

Clean snacking brand Tosi has extended its SuperBites Bar line with the addition of two new flavors: Almond Dark Chocolate Sea Salt and Peanut Butter & Jelly. The SuperBites Bar is made with base ingredients such as almonds, cashews, flax seeds, white sesame seeds and chia seeds and are vegan, USDA Certified Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified. The new flavors are available in 1 oz. and 2.4 oz. formats at select retailers including Whole Foods, Sprouts, Costco and Albertsons.

Making its debut, wellness company Gummishot introduced a line of plant-based Energy Gummies in three flavors: Elderberry, Valencia Orange and Tropical. Each pack includes three gummies which contain 75 mg of caffeine each -- the equivalent of one cup of coffee. Gummishot Energy Gummies are available in single flavor and variety packs online in a three pack for $9.97 or in an 8-pack for $24.97.

Better-for-you sweets maker Cocomels extended its line of coconut milk caramels with the debut of Dark Chocolate-Covered Toffee Bites. The bites are free from dairy, gluten and GMOs, and contain 1 gram of sugar. The Dark Chocolate-Covered Toffee Bites are available in a 3.25 oz. packs for a suggested retail price of $4.99 per bag online and on Amazon.

Plant-based cheese maker Follow Your Heart introduced Bleu Cheese crumbles and two finely shredded varieties, Cheddar and Mozzarella, to its portfolio of vegan, soy-free cheeses last month. The crumbles are available in a 6 oz. tub at select retailers including Whole Foods Market and Stater Bros while the finely shredded format comes in a 7 oz. bag available nationwide at Sprouts, Vons, Albertsons, Wegmans and Walmart.

Organic food company GoodSam introduced a 55% Caramel Salt Chocolate Bar to its portfolio of sweets and snacks. The vegan, non-GMO, direct trade and sugar-free bar is made with organic cacao grown in the Central Andes in Colombia using regenerative farming methods and is available online in a 6-pack for $29.99.

The latest addition to Nestlé’s snack lineup is Rallies Nut Butter Bombs, now entering the refrigerated section of select Hy-Vee stores. The chilled bar contains real nut butter and chocolate and comes in two flavors -- Brownie Almond Butter and Salted Cashew Butter -- with a third, Raspberry Peanut Butter, set to launch early next year. In addition to retail stores, the bars are available online in a 3-count pack for a suggested retail price of $2.49 or in a 6-count pack online only for $19.99.

Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby and Chobani have teamed up to launch a limited-edition Mixed Berry Vanilla flavor for its Chobani Complete Shake line. The lactose-free shake, now available at select retailers nationwide, contains 25 grams of protein and is intended as a pre- or post-workout snack.

Protein and supplement maker Naked Nutrition entered the snacking space this month with the debut of Naked Bar in Peanut Butter Crunch and Chocolate Fudge flavors. The bars are made with grass-fed whey protein, gluten and soy-free, contain between 170 to 190 calories, flavor dependent, and are available in a 12-count box for $29.99.

Frozen vegetable company Bird’s Eye released a line of Sheet Pan Meals in four varieties: Chicken with Balsamic Flavored Sweet Potatoes, Chicken with Rosemary Brown Butter Potatoes, Italian Sausage with Peppers and Chicken with Garlic Parmesan Potatoes. The oven-roasted meals are ready-to-eat in 25 minutes and are available at retailers nationwide in a 21 oz. four-serving bag for a suggested retail price of $5.99.

Acid League introduced two new vinegar-based salad dressings created in collaboration with cook, writer, and artist Julia Sherman to celebrate the release of her new book: Arty Parties: An Entertaining Cookbook. Salad Garden Vinegar and Tomato Saffron Vinegar are available for a limited time only and feature bottle artwork by Brooklyn-based Daniel Gordon Studio (@danielgordonstudio). While Salad Garden Vinegar is already sold out, the Tomato Saffron Vinegar is available online and at select retailers, paired with a copy of the book for $55.

Asian food company Omson teamed up with Instant Pot to launch a limited-edition starters sampler pack containing its Lemongrass BBQ, Korean Spicy Bulgogi and Chinese Mala Salad sauces and six recipes to be made specifically in an Instant Pot or Air Fryer. The sampler contains six sauce packets which are made with “hard-to-get” ingredients including sauces, aromatics and seasonings to make specific Asian dishes. The co-branded sampler is available online for $29.

Functional food brand JOYÁ expanded its chocolate offerings with a new limited edition Dark Chocolate with Lion’s Mane bar. The chocolate is made with single-origin heirloom cacao and coconut sugar combined with lion’s mane extract. JOYÁ’s Dark Chocolate with Lion’s Mane is available for $5.50 per bar or $49.50 for a 10-pack online.

Sana Foods introduced a plant-based, grain and gluten-free frozen burrito in two varieties: Traditional and Fajita. The former contains cauliflower rice and breadfruit mixed with onions, tomato paste, carrots, chili powder while the Fajita variety contains the same ingredients with the addition of jackfruit, onions and bell peppers. The burritos are available at Sprouts locations nationwide with expansion to additional retailers coming early next year.

Better-for-you snack maker Sandbox Snack Co. debuted a line of protein cookie baking mixes in Coconut Chocolate Chip, Blueberry Vanilla and Apple Cinnamon flavors. The gluten-free mixes are made with a base of gluten-free oats, almond flour, fruits and veggies, egg whites and raw sugar and can be prepared with the addition of water. The baking mixes make approximately 20 cookies per 12 oz. pouch and are available online for $12 and also come in a 3-count single flavor or variety pack for $33.
