Watch: Staff Picks From the Summer Fancy Food Show

At this month’s Summer Fancy Food, one of the main highlights was the sheer variety of options. Over the past few years the show has transformed from one focused mostly on higher-end, gourmet products, to one whose purview encompass a larger array of food and beverages.

While there was certainly plenty of chocolate, cheese and charcuterie to be found in the aisles of the Javits Center, attendees were also introduced to a wide mix of products for all categories, dayparts and usage occasions. Think: all manner of yogurts, meat snacks and meal solutions.

Also noticeable was the focus on natural, organic, sustainable and healthy foods — attributes that have made the leap themselves from specialty “health” stores to mainstream retailers.

The Project NOSH team’s staff picks are a reflection of these two shifts, encompassing a range of products that would have been just as apt to be found at Natural Products Expo West or on the shelves of a local Kroger or Costco.
