National Sales Director

Must Love

Responsibilities: 

Strategy:

  • Create and execute on a comprehensive sales plan aimed at increasing distribution across all Must Love products (frozen and shelf-stable) across the US. Collaborate with cofounders and Dir. of Marketing to develop this plan to include target accounts and SKU assortment.

  • Work with Dir. of Marketing to build and regularly update sales forecast model 

Drive sales:

  • Primary focus is to actively develop relationships with new and existing buyer contacts across all grocery accounts to drive distribution, shelf placement, merchandising, and pricing objectives for Must Love’s products. 

    • Leverage sales data tools to draw key insights to drive sales (e.g., for sales presentations, evaluating opportunities, gap analysis vs forecast.), includes tools like: syndicated data sets, retailer sales portals, distributor sales portals, Westock

    • Work closely with brokers to strategize and coordinate account approach and execute strategy

    • Work with distributors to take advantage of retail presentations, manage items/DC openings

    • Take advantage of opportunities to drive new growth and volume through new channels / accounts like C-Store, Drug, Food Service, etc.

  • Secondary focus is to actively develop relationships with new and existing buyer contacts to gain placement for Must Love’s products across omnichannel outlets (3rd party shopping apps like Instacart / Amazon Prime, drop-ship online stores like Faire / Bubble and emerging platforms like GoPuff) 

  • Drive velocity by setting and managing promotion strategy by account within authorized budget (including TPR schedule, demos, etc.)

  • Drive best-in-class in-store execution by conducting store audits and working closely with merchandisers

  • Collaborate with Dir. of Marketing to develop account-specific campaigns across digital and live platforms whenever appropriate

  • Represent Must Love at trade shows and/or other events and develop sales opportunities by building connections with key individuals

Other:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on innovation initiatives, particularly providing retailer and sales perspective during development


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years CPG wholesale (food and beverage) sales experience

  • Strong understanding of retail, distribution, and logistics within food industry

  • Proficiency in new customer development with owner mentality

  • Strong persuasive selling and negotiation skills

  • Self-motivated, with ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Clean driver’s license and reliable mode of transport

  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed 

  • Prefer Southern California, but open to remote
