Inside Sales Job Description:

We have a large database of leads generated from virtual and live events that we need to mine.  We also receive daily requests for samples and information about our services.  An inside sales representative would be responsible for working those leads, moving them from a MQL to a SQL and closing the account.  This role will report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with our sales admin and outside sales representatives.  We’re a team - While the below outlines the primary role, there will be times that assignments and/or tasks may be given that are for the betterment of company.

  • Generate revenue by working inbound leads
  • Track account activity through CRM program
  • Provide client/prospect feedback to sales administrator and marketing team
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, and preparing quotations
  • Follow industry trends and publications looking for new opportunities and prospects
  • Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
  • Represent the company at live & virtual events
  • Leverage LinkedIn profile to network and prospect

Inside Sales Qualifications / Skills:

  • History of meeting sales goals
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation experience
  • Cold-calling capabilities
  • Networking skills – Leverage virtual & live events, and LinkedIn
  • Ability to develop technical understanding
  • Solution-oriented mentality
  • Competitive nature for sales
  • Self-starter, ability to develop or modify a sales process to work efficiently and meet deadlines/goals 
  • Team player
  • Willing to travel for events and training

Location – The ideal candidate would be based in any of the following locations: San Francisco, Oakland, or Los Angeles

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • BA/BS University degree with a concentration in marketing, communications, advertising sales, or business administration preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience preferred
  • Experience in Food, Beverage, and/or Ingredient Sales preferred
  • Familiarity with HubSpot preferred
