Bombshell Beer Company of Holly Springs, NC has an opening for a full-time assistant brewer/cellar person. We operate on a 2 vessel- 15 bbl brewhouse with a mix of 15, 30, and 45 bbl tanks. We are a women-owned, self-distributing brewery outputting 2,500 bbls/year with sights set on breaking 3,000 this year. We are in the beginnings of an expansion phase to increase our brewery size and output, along with a 2nd taproom location, which means it is a great time to join our team and be a part of our future growth and success. With this expansion, we will be working on increased production, as well as focusing on barrel aging and sour beers. We own our own canning line, delivery vans and have 3 tremendous sales reps that service the surrounding markets.
For those of you that would consider this position but would have to move, Holly Springs has been voted the safest city to raise a family in North Carolina. We are a small town, surrounded by plenty of lakes for outdoor activities, a minor league baseball team and great schools, just 20 miles outside of Raleigh. A great place to plant roots and enjoy nearby attractions and shopping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly responsible for maintaining Bombshell Beer’s quality standards in all areas of Brewing
-Maintain a sanitary work environment through CIP processes and general housekeeping in collaboration with the brewer
-Follow SOP guidelines
-Yeast handling, including proper yeast health, cropping and pitching
-Monitoring fermentation processes through lab analysis
-Carbonation for canning and kegging
-Perform general routine maintenance of equipment and infrastructure
-Aid in the development of staff
- Continual lifting, dragging, carrying and manipulating of hoses, parts, buckets and pumps, requiring standing, walking, crouching and lifting regularly throughout the duration on the shift
-This position requires the regular use of a keg washer, forklift, pumps, electrical/gas heating equipment, digital and analog scales, grain mill, refractometer and various brewing and lab equipment that is subject to change over time and handling pressurized gases.
-Some nights and some weekend shifts may occasionally be required dependent on the schedule.
-Additional tasks may be required when necessary
-Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
-At least 21 years of age
-1 year of professional brewing experience or completion of a brewing course in school are preferred but not necessary. We will train you if we click.
-Ability to work on your feet the entire day
-Ability to accept constructive criticism as well as provide it, take direction and work independently
-Must be able to lift 60 pounds and/or drag 165 pounds on a regular basis
-Ability to be around alcohol without abusing it
-High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
