Category Analyst @ Bedrock Analytics

We are seeking a talented category analyst to join our team.  We are a fully remote workforce. The category analyst will interact with syndicated, POS, panel, e-commerce data.  In addition, you will gain direct exposure to CPG leaders in sales, marketing, and analytics across our vast customer base. The main responsibilities of this role entail helping CPG customers structure their syndicated data, helping automate segmentation, setting up new customers with access to Bedrock, providing guidance on how best to pull data and serving key customers with analytical consulting services if requested. Bedrock works with some of the most innovative brands in the consumer packaged goods industry.


  • Collaborate with the sales and software teams to translate customer requirements into data requirements that work on the Bedrock platform.
  • Help customers create SPINS, IRI, or Nielsen syndicated data reports to be imported into the Bedrock web-based software platform for visualization & analyses.
  • Maintain data integrity and maintenance of customer reports.
  • Supervise our automated & assisted QA processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer onboarding process.
  • Develop relationships with fast-growing, disruptive consumer products companies, focusing on both the main contact as well as senior leadership.
  • Assist Customer Success Managers & fellow category analysts with training, setup and on-boarding of new customers.

Background and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 1-4 years’ experience
  • Experience with syndicated data (SPINS, IRI, Nielsen)
  • Expert proficiency with retail analytics
  • Willingness to travel 5%-10% of the time (once restrictions are lifted)
  • Related industries include: Consumer Packaged Goods, Consulting, Information, Sales/Retail Analytics
  • You know the difference between a vlookup and an hlookup and can offset an array in Excel without breaking a sweat
