BevNET.com, Inc. is the leading media company serving the non-alcoholic beverage, craft beer, and natural foods industries.

As an industry hub for these communities, we produce subscriber streaming content,  industry conferences and publish three websites that produce news daily, as well as a print magazine. 

While we've been in business for over 20 years, BevNET is still a young company that works hard and has fun doing it. Our offices (when we go there) are casual and laid back with the latest food, beverage, beer and spirits products flowing in daily. Our team is tightly knit and focused on growth. The company is privately-held, growing, and profitable, with no outside investors. We are a small but nimble team so experience in a startup environment or being a part of early-stage teams is an advantage. 

We consistently produce innovation-driven and educational content through series like Office Hours, Elevator Talk, Frontlines and Market Share that give the food, beverage and beer community the inspiration and knowledge they need to unlock their next business milestones and maybe even gain a little industry exposure along the way. 

THE ROLE

The product marketing specialist is focused on explaining subscription value.  They work with the product team to understand the features of the membership and build UVPs, campaigns, landing pages and digital marketing using video, podcast and web ads.  They set goals, align on strategy and then create plans and collaborate with our design team to ship campaigns. They work to gain an in-depth understanding of our products and roadmap and can bubble up the important features to demonstrate value for subscribers and sponsors. 

Product marketers love the funnel. They define audiences and focus on moving them through to conversion.  They eat data for breakfast and are always trying to develop the killer video, email, slide or landing page to communicate their point. They dream in infographics and work with design to make them reality. 

The position is located in our San Diego office, which is accessible to public transportation. Free parking is also available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand, explain and optimize the subscriber (aka membership) funnel for conversion

  • Write UVPs, emails and build landing pages that drive conversion

  • Categorize and curate content into instant-value tracks to fuel subscription campaign

  • Create and execute media campaigns across paid, owned and earned social channels

  • Regularly track performance of campaigns. Drive team to surpass goals and reset goals based on performance

  • Lead creation of monthly subscriber newsletters for BevNET/NOSH and Brewbound

  • Build subscription focused workflows

  • Write headlines and copy for campaigns


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of B2B product marketing experience

  • You must be a strong communicator, particularly with writing

  • Strong experience writing and communicating value propositions

  • Experience with email marketing, writing email campaigns

  • Strong ability to create eye catching, eloquent slideware that tells a story visually.

  • Strong understanding of the marketing funnel: awareness, interest, consideration. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment

  • Technically capable, excellent communicator, and a desire to improve processes

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-4 years of marketing background with 1-3 years of product marketing experience in food, beverage, media, events or technology.

  • Strong B2B marketing experience

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting and data analysis

  • A working understanding of digital media

  • Social media fluency

  • Nice to have: 

    • Hubspot experience

    • Landing page and ad creation with tools like Unbounce and Bannersnack 

    • Wireframe or flowchart experience

    • Experience collaborating with Google Documents and Slack.

    • Experience with membership or subscription products
