Good City Brewing
Good City Brewing is seeking an Innovation Brewer to join its team at their brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Good City is an independently owned craft brewery with multiple taproom restaurant locations, driven by its mission to Seek the Good through 1) pursuing excellence, 2) prioritizing relationships, and 3) engaging our local place.
The Innovation Brewer is responsible for leading and overseeing all creative development of new beers and is also expected to assist with production brewing shifts on a regularly scheduled basis.

Must have a constant desire to push the limits and creatively try new beers and
Must have the ability to work alone and with others
A degree or certification in brewing science is strongly preferred. Minimum of 5
years of commercial brewing experience.
Must have a strong working knowledge of OSHA and TTB regulations
Displays a good understanding of the analysis of raw materials, water profiles
and wort production.
Has a strong focus on Quality Control, including a basic understanding of
laboratory practices and associated microbiology.
Safety-mindedness is of the utmost importance (lifting, chemicals, hot liquids
and hardware, inhalation hazards, noise)
Willingness and ability to step in wherever needed
A good understanding of the development and oversight of wild ales is
Responsibilities as a Brewer:
Wort production and brewing
Precise record-keeping for all production batches.
Recipe formulation as a collaborative effort with the brewery team
Yeast handling (collection, propagation)
Cleaning the brewery and equipment
Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent sensory analysis skills to maintain quality control
- Occasional promotion of products outside of the brewery at festivals and other beer events
Responsibilities as Innovation Lead:
Oversight of the a satellite 1 BBL pilot system, including brewing, cellar and packaging efforts. Additional responsibilities include maintenance of the system and cleaning.
Lead our wild ale program, including recipe development, handling and packaging.
As a collaborative effort, creation of new recipes and be facilitator and steward of recipes from other brewers
In conjunction with Sales & Marketing, conduct monthly “tasting days” of beers from the market at large are sampled by an Innovation Committee consisting of brewers and team members from other departments.
This position is extremely physical and demanding in nature and involves working with potentially dangerous equipment, machinery, exposure to high noise levels, and handling of hazardous materials
Stands and/or traverses brewery for long periods of time.
Frequently climbs stairs/staircase.
Frequently bends, moves, transports, or lifts 60 pounds and move 165 pounds
Use repetitive motions when brewing.
Can work in both hot and cold temperatures
