The On-Premise and Food Service Area Manager will drive superior sales performance through the development, delivery, and activation of on premise and food service strategies for our wholesale and distributor partners. The candidate will use their experience, relationships  and entrepreneurial mindset to help grow both channels. He/she will be accountable for forging internal and external relationships and work cross-functionally. This will involve a mix of distributor, wholesale, and field sales team management. The DM is responsible for a variety of accounts: selling in both at store level and headquarter level in addition to managing results through our partners.   In some markets, the DM will also be responsible to help the VP manage brokers.  

 

This key role will report directly to the VP of Sales and will be tasked with helping to grow, hire, and lead an on premise and food service sales team.  You will interact with buyers, decision makers, account executives, route operators, sales teams, and manufacturers’ sales representatives and must be able to work in a very fast paced and growing environment.  This role is focused on Texas primarily; responsibilities outside the geography will grow rapidly, as is the company. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage DSD/distributor and wholesale partners as partners, with open, strategic co-planning and effort
  • Secure placements and provide promotional support to drive on premise and food service sales
  • Increase sales and drive volume in current accounts
  • Gain and/or improve distribution to meet sales goals
  • Responsible for managing, directing and training distributor personnel
  • Work in conjunction with the field marketing team for sampling strategy and marketing programs for the on premise and food service channels
  • Communicate programs, selling materials and other needs to Executive Sales and Marketing team
  • Record inventory levels and generate orders of our products for assigned account base
  • Responsible for maximizing permanent and temporary POS placement and positioning
  • Submit all weekly, monthly and special reports, including itineraries, to VP of Sales in a timely manner
  • Run sales routes due to openings or departmental needs and fully perform the duties
  • Forge synergy by maintaining effective business relationships at all levels with a team-based culture of inclusion
  • Develop and sustain great relationships with key accounts and staff

 

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of Food Service and/or on-premise channel knowledge and experience, including 2+ years of supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience managing Distributor and Wholesale partners
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Additionally, candidates with some OFF-Premise sales experience will be given special consideration
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Strong supervisory skills, with ability to assess development needs and deliver action plans to optimize performance
  • A proven history of building rapport, establishing account-specific plans, and exceeding sales goals
  • Based in Houston or Dallas or willing to re-located there
