Market Manager, Northern California

Ventura Spirits Company

This individual will work autonomously to establish volume growth, brand presence and positioning of the portfolio, working with cocktail-focused On-Premise accounts and independent Off-Premise accounts throughout the assigned territory.

Other duties are to include:

  • Pursue new opportunities for distribution and impact local market to secure multiple SKU distribution
  • Utilize existing relationships within the trade to secure back bar and cocktail menu placements
  • Work closely with distributor partner, communicating daily to maximize placement opportunities
  • Manage 75-100 accounts within the territory, with San Francisco as primary, Oakland/Berkeley as secondary, and Sacramento as tertiary markets, respectively. Additional territory coverage may occasionally include Lake Tahoe, North Bay, South Bay and other outlying areas within Northern California.
  • Embody the brand, operating as both as a Brand Ambassador and in a Sales function
  • Provide training to accounts on brand/product(s) to include company history, distillation process, cocktail ideas, and current trends
  • Assist in executing impactful Off-Premise promotions, tastings, and educational presentations, both at key accounts
  • Assist in production at monthly Non-Premise events (wine and spirits festivals, distributor showcases, etc.)
  • Present regularly to distributor teams at SF or Pleasanton office/s
  • Provide weekly written recaps of account activity
  • Maintain online CRM account tracker, to be updated weekly
  • Maintain active communication with the VP of Sales
  • Manage monthly expense budget
  • Ensure compliance of all alcoholic beverage regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • 3-5 years demonstrated sales experience, including some spirits background
  • Previous retail, on-premise, or off-premise work experience is a plus
  • Experience as a Bartender, Bar Manager, or Buyer a strong plus
  • Strong communication and presentation skills a plus
  • Adept at time management, with high attention to detail
  • MUST LIVE IN ASSIGNED TERRITORY
  • Must own car to travel within assigned territory
  • Must be able to lift and move cases of product frequently
  • Must be able to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point of sale
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, as needed
