Position: Account Supervisor

Status: Full-time + exempt

The Account Supervisor leads teams by proactively assessing the needs of his/her clients and fellow team members and putting together strategic plans to set an organized cadence for completing tasks. This person should be able to efficiently execute media results that move the needle for clients. This person should display patience, compassion and consideration towards others as they take on a more high-level role within their teams and train and develop their team members to be executors of strategy to achieve each client’s overall goals. 


Account Management

  • Serves as resident expert on client, competitive environment and related subjects

  • Proactively assigns tasks to team members with context and expectations clearly outlined

  • Takes the lead in matters concerning client conflict and concerns? before escalating to next level of management

  • Provides direct client communication as needed and is viewed as the senior strategist by both the client and team

  • Has a firm understanding of budgets and can communicate this knowledge to clients as needed

  • Manages service retainers and project budgets


Media & Influencer Relations

  • Has reliable network of media and influencer contacts to be able to land key placements in various outlets for clients

  • Attends events, desksides and media tours on behalf of clients as needed

  • Conducts media training with clients and team members, as needed


Strategy

  • Implements comprehensive strategy and plan for media events, press conferences, conventions, media tours, desksides, etc. to be executed by the team

  • Communicates “big picture” logistics and tactics to teams

  • Provides framework for tracking and measuring client results so team can effectively communicate ROI to client


Mentorship

  • Trains junior team members in areas of research, writing, media relations and client communication 

  • Takes time to regularly check-in with team on progress of pending tasks

  • Consistently completes one-on-one check-in’s with staff to proactively plan, discuss concerns, give feedback, and provide general guidance in all areas of work


Agency Development

  • Contributes new ideas to better the overall performance and efficiency of the agency

  • Leads by example in embracing and supporting agency processes and procedures


 General

  • Writes and edits materials with keen eye and in a timely fashion

  • Lead creative brainstorms and inspire collaboration

  • Maintain accurate timesheets on a daily basis

  • Remain punctual, professional and polished at all work related functions

  • Close the loop on assignments and notify team members when action items are complete

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field

  • 5 - 7 years of professional experience in Public Relations, ideally in the CPG space

 

Working Conditions

  • May require evening and weekend work, as needed

  • May require travel for work

 

Physical Requirements

  • May require extended periods of sitting, working in front of a computer

  • Based on experience
